Java release facts

The current main release is verity-5.7.3.jar, published July 18, 2026. Its published SHA-1 is da28115bbad0478d9ed9c97f2466b67d46d13d51. The project listing identifies VarmiteYT as owner and Project ID 1591438.

The project describes Verity as an AI-powered helper with an animated box, horror events, extreme darkness and the Verity Demon. AI speech features may require additional setup or services beyond placing the file in the mods folder.

  • Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1
  • Forge loader for 1.20.1
  • GeckoLib dependency
  • YACL dependency
  • A backed-up test world

Do not mix Java builds

A NeoForge 1.21.1 file exists in the project history, but the project warns that this branch is deprecated and has many bugs. Do not assume the latest Minecraft game number means the best supported Verity build. Use a separate launcher profile so other worlds and modpacks are not affected.

What the Verity Mod Java release includes

The Verity Mod Java project recreates the yellow helper from the horror concept as an interactive companion inside Minecraft Java Edition. The current description includes an animated box, AI conversation, environmental changes, extreme darkness and the hostile Verity Demon. These systems go beyond a cosmetic resource pack, which is why the correct loader, dependencies and project setup matter.

Verity JE 5.7.3 is currently the main Forge build for Minecraft 1.20.1. The project also lists an older NeoForge path for Minecraft 1.21.1, but the maintainer warns that branch is deprecated and buggy. Choosing the larger game version number without reading the support note can therefore produce a worse experience than using the current recommended Java build.

Verity Mod Java compatibility checklist

Before downloading, open the launcher profile you plan to use and confirm its Minecraft and Forge versions. A profile labeled only as latest release is not sufficient because it may start a different game version. Verity Mod Java 5.7.3 should be isolated in a Forge 1.20.1 instance with matching GeckoLib and YACL releases. Every dependency must target the same Minecraft and loader generation.

The project is listed for client and server environments, but multiplayer still requires coordinated versions. A server and every joining client should use compatible files and dependencies. Test the complete set in a temporary world before moving an established server save. Remote AI features or speech services may also need configuration that is separate from ordinary Forge loading.

Understanding the Verity Java filename and hash

The verified release filename is verity-5.7.3.jar and the published file size is approximately 235.1 MiB. The size is much larger than many simple entity mods because the project contains substantial assets and behavior. A radically different filename, extension or size should prompt another check of the source listing rather than an assumption that the file is equivalent.

The published SHA-1 value can be used as an integrity comparison. If your calculated value differs, delete the local copy and download it again from the identified source. Do not attempt to repair a mismatched JAR by extracting or renaming it. Hash verification is especially useful when a browser interrupted the first transfer or when multiple downloads with the same visible filename exist.

Configure Verity JE without damaging another modpack

Use a dedicated launcher instance instead of dropping Verity into a large existing pack. Dedicated instances keep Minecraft versions, loader libraries, Java arguments, saves and mod folders separated. Begin with Forge, GeckoLib, YACL and Verity JE only. Once the game reaches the main menu and a test world loads, introduce optional mods individually.

If the game crashes, inspect the latest log for the first missing-mod, wrong-loader or mixin error. The final line is often only a generic shutdown message. Removing every file at once hides the conflict; changing one variable at a time makes the cause reproducible. Keep the original Verity Mod Java source page available because its current relations and setup tutorial can change after a release.

What to expect on the first Java launch

A successful Forge launch only proves that the mod and dependencies loaded. Conversation, speech or locally hosted AI features may require API credentials, a connection step or the maintainer's Ollama workflow. Follow the current project tutorial and never paste private account credentials into an unofficial installer. If a feature depends on an external service, temporary downtime is different from a broken JAR.

Use a new survival test world to learn how the companion, scripted events and darkness affect play. Keep backups before allowing the mod to interact with a valued save. The Verity Mod Java experience intentionally changes ordinary gameplay, so a cautious first run is part of correct installation rather than an indication that the project is untrusted.

Where to get reliable Java support

Begin with the current Verity JE project description, Files tab, Relations tab and setup tutorial. Include Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge, Verity 5.7.3 and the dependency versions when reporting a problem. Share logs through the support method requested by the maintainer, but remove tokens, API keys, usernames and private file paths first. Clear version evidence helps separate a Verity Mod Java defect from a launcher, Java runtime, dependency or third-party mod conflict. Keep a copy of the working profile so later tests can be compared against a known configuration instead of an unknown collection of changes.

Verity Mod Java FAQ

Does Verity JE work with Fabric?

The verified 5.7.3 main release is a Forge file, not Fabric.

Can I use it on Minecraft 1.21.1?

A separate NeoForge build is listed, but the maintainer warns that it is deprecated and buggy. It is not the same as the current 1.20.1 Forge file.

Why are GeckoLib and YACL needed?

They are published project dependencies. Missing or mismatched dependencies can prevent Minecraft from starting.
